Are you interest in getting your feet wet blogging? Do you want to increase your content views from your personal blog? Are you passionate about mental wellness, young African Americans, or both?! We want YOU!

Black Girls Smile Inc. is actively looking for dynamic individuals passionate about sharing their talents, strengths and time to assist us in furthering our vision to ensure black girls are provided the tools necessary to lead mentally healthy lives by providing through our comprehensive site blog. We look forward to you joining us on this worthy and excited path to positive mental health for all young black girls!

Black Girls Smile Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting positive mental health education and advocacy events and initiatives geared toward young African American girls. BGS works to achieve this through resource programs, forums and mentorship initiatives that promote mental health education, awareness and self-empowerment.

 

Description: Contributing powerful, thoughtful and relevant content to the BGS blog highlighting mental wellness news, research and stories relevant to black girls, parents/caregivers of black girls, and/or any stakeholder that has an interest in the wellbeing of black girls. Bloggers have the option of submitting posts on a one of basis when content is relevant to BGS’s mission and website patrons or joining us as a regular content blogger.

 

Qualifications:

• Passionate about blogging and writing

• Friendly and conversational

• Must be a good writer, team player and technologically savvy

• Fast Learner

 

Benefits:

• This is an unpaid opportunity

• Estimated weekly hours are 5 hours per week, unless you have more time than that! Schedule is flexible, and you can write the posts when works for you. (minimum 3-month commitment, but longer if you’d like)

• Will work remotely, on his/her own computer

• Create a portfolio of your published work

• You’ll learn about the blogging culture and a bit about social media!
